Bachus Announces $1,974,950 Grant to Birmingham International Airport
WASHINGTON-Congressman Spencer Bachus is pleased to announce that a grant of
$1,974,950 has been approved by the U.S. Department of Transportation for Birmingham
International Airport. “I am committed to ensuring that the world class city of Birmingham has a
world class airport”, Bachus said. “As Birmingham International grows, the increase in activity
will have a positive effect on the city economically as travel to and from Birmingham becomes
more convenient.”
The funds provided under the grant are listed as discretionary, and are provided under the
Department of Transportation and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2003. Congressman
Bachus is the lone member of the Alabama Delegation that sits on the House Committee on
Transportation and Infrastructure.
